Chapters 50 to 76

Rama is on the throne, and the sages who come to honor him have a question of their own: does he know who it was that he killed? What follows is the whole history of Lanka and its lord, told at Ayodhya after the fact. It is the longest part of this book, and most of what the sages tell happened before Part I. The telling itself belongs to Rama's reign, and the closing chapters return to it.
